Peru has expressed its willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Hungary, within the framework of the European country's National Day.

Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it seeks to develop joint efforts in areas such as water resources management, agricultural development, and educational exchange, among others.
"Peru congratulates the people and government of the Republic of Hungary on their National Day," the government agency stated.
The foundation of Hungary and the canonization of King Saint Stephen —known for basing his reign on Western Europe's standards and values— are celebrated every year on August 20.
The Monarch was canonized 45 years after his death, on August 20, 1083, the date on which the above-mentioned National Day is celebrated.
