The Government has ratified the Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Peru and the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) for the Fight against Corruption.

The document —signed on February 25, 2022, in Lima— was ratified by Supreme Decree No. 023-2022-RE published on Thursday in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall publish the full text of the agreement, as well as the date on which it will enter into force, in the country's official gazette.

Likewise, it (the full text) shall be reported to the Congress of the Republic.

"We will not allow or protect those who commit acts of corruption. Not surprisingly, one of the 10 axes of our Government's 2021-2026 General Policy is the frontal fight against this scourge," the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo stated.

Said remarks were made on February 25 after he led the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between the Peruvian Government and the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) for the Fight against Corruption.

The document was signed by the Head of State and was countersigned by Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa.
