Based on the U.S. judicial system, the District Attorney will become the representative of the Peruvian State, he said.
However, the Peruvian Government also hired Foley Hoag law firm, so its members can provide advice.
"It (the law firm), authorized by the Peruvian State, is following up on the progress of the procedure and informing about the status of the progress that has been made," he expressed.
The Peruvian Public Ministry's International Judicial Cooperation and Extraditions Unit (UCJIE) informed the bail hearing of the ex-President has been scheduled for July 19 at 10:30 AM (local time) in the State of California.
Toledo detained in the U.S.
After U.S. authorities' questions were addressed, the Department of Justice notified the Public Ministry's UCJIE on July 2 that the arrest order was being prepared in order to extradite the ex-President.
"It is a favorable result, as the judicial phase will start," she said.
