on Friday reported that a lawsuit has been filed for the real estate of former President Alejandro Toledo to be managed by the Peruvian State.
"The Asset Forfeiture Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit before the Judiciary to declare the (Peruvian) State as owner of the real estate of former President Alejandro Toledo and his family entourage," it reported via its official Twitter account.
Alejandro Toledo —who resides in the U.S.— is being investigated by the Peruvian justice for having allegedly received a bribe worth nearly US$32 million from the Brazilian Odebrecht company to favor it in the bidding for the Interoceanic Highway, while he was President of the Republic (2001-2006).
