Peru: Prime Minister welcomes start of face-to-face classes in the country

Peru's Prime Minister Anibal Torres on Monday welcomed the start of the 2022 school year at public schools nationwide.

In a post on Twitter, he wished every success to more than 4 million schoolchildren who will attend face-to-face and semi-face-to-face classes starting today.

"We share the excitement of their first day (of school), and we are committed to continue working for an adequate return of students throughout the country. #TodosVuelven (Everybody returns)," Torres remarked.

Earlier today , the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo announced that he would participate in the opening ceremony of 2022 school year in San Martin region.

He also mentioned that Ministers of State would simultaneously supervise the return to school in 19 regions throughout the country.
