Nancy Lange, wife of Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, channeled 8,000 masks and 5,660 special glasses into southern Caylloma province affected by Sabancaya volcano ash emissions.

Donation was conferred by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and received by Caylloma Mayor Romulo Tinta at Arequipa Regional Government headquarters.

State-run National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) encouraged locals to wear the glasses and masks. Also, they were advised to take extra precautions at home to make sure they are not further affected.

Likewise, U.S.-born Lange visited Auvergne Peru Francia, a special basic education center (CEBE) in Alto Selva Alegre district. At the site, she handed over 220 school kits and 220 Lego sets aimed at students with different abilities attending Arequipa region schools.

Moreover, she toured Indeci's Disaster Risk Management Simulation Center, the only one of its kind in Peru, and the result of combined efforts undertaken by public and private institutions.
