Peru: President Vizcarra's approval rating reaches 63%

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra enjoys an approval rating of 63% in January 2019, the latest Ipsos poll revealed Monday.

According to the survey, published by El Comercio newspaper, the disapproval rating reached 26%.

Northern Peru shows the highest approval percentage (66%), followed by eastern (63%), southern (56%), and central (55%) regions.

As per the key topics the government should focus on, 61% of respondents think the fight against corruption must be a priority.

On the other hand, 48% of those polled said the government should improve the quality of education, 35% demand a quality improvement in public health, and 32% give priority to public safety.
