Peru President to attend UN General Assembly, Pacific Alliance Presidential Forum

10:17 | Lima, Sep. 18.

Peruvian Congress on Wednesday officialized the authorization for President Martin Vizcarra to travel to New York (U.S.) with the purpose of attending the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to the legislative resolution, published in El Peruano official gazette, the Peruvian leader will be overseas from September 24-26.

Likewise, the Head of State will participate in the Pacific Alliance's Presidential Forum.

Furthermore, the document indicated that attendance to the UN General Assembly represents an important opportunity to promote the national interests registered in the development, cooperation, peace, and security goals of the Peruvian State's foreign policy.

The legislative resolution —approved by Parliament last week— was signed by Congress Chairman Pedro Olaechea and Deputy Chairwoman Karina Beteta.
