Peru President takes part at multisectoral "World of Illusions" fair

12:22 | Lima, Dec. 6.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Friday participated at the multisectoral fair "World of Illusions," an initiative that promotes culture, knowledge, and development of values among children and teenagers in vulnerable situations.

The activity —attended by Peru's First Lady Maribel Diaz and Women-Vulnerable Populations Minister Gloria Montenegro— took place at the Government Palace's Courtyard in Lima and brought together 3,000 children.

"Greetings to everyone who makes this effort come true, to government authorities, the apostolic nuncio, and diplomatic corps, who are always supportive (…) this is an example of what we can do when we work together," the Head of State pointed out.

As stated by the Peruvian leader, this effort —aimed at 3,000 children living in poverty— can be replicated in other regions of the country —in favor of all Peruvian children— in order to provide better education and health services, as well as improve families' quality of life.

"This small sample can be replicated across the country at a larger scale if we keep working together and set the objective of giving children a happy childhood by meeting their basic needs," he expressed.

The multicultural event "World of Illusions" has been organized in cooperation with diplomatic corps, as well as Ministries of Interior, Women-Vulnerable Populations, and Agriculture, among others.
