The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Friday supervised a series of health-sector-related works in Huancavelica region, within the framework of the decentralized actions carried out by the Government to fight COVID-19 and reinforce health services for the benefit of the population.

While in the area, the Head of State launched the Temporary Care and Isolation Center —an establishment that hosts 50 beds for the care of coronavirus patients.

This center —which also has a monitoring and video surveillance system— is part of the decentralized actions carried out by the Government to fight COVID-19 and strengthen health services.

Subsequently, the top official delivered tablets to the Regional Government of Huancavelica, with the aim of improving educational quality in the region as part of the strategy to close digital gaps. The initiative is boosted by his administration.

Earlier today, the statesman verified the progress made on the regional hospital, which is under construction on land of at least 59,000 square meters. According to projections, it will benefit approximately 500,000 residents.

The new Zacarias Correa Valdivia Hospital will enhance the set of services in terms of outpatient consultation; emergency; physical medicine and rehabilitation; hemotherapy and blood bank; obstetrics center; neonatal ICU; surgical center and hospitalization; among others.
