The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday afternoon supervised the aeromedical evacuation of a 3-month-old child, who had to be transferred from the northern Andean city of Cajamarca to the capital, Lima.

The minor suffers from cardio-respiratory problems, as well as requires surgery and medical attention.

As explained by his mother, the little boy suffers from four heart abnormalities. Of them, the one with the highest risk is the artery that goes to the lungs, which is clogged and needs surgery.

Both the minor and his mother were taken on an Antonov plane from Cajamarca Airport, where the Head of State will fulfill activities shortly.

There, the top official will participate in the inauguration ceremony for the comprehensive electrification in the provinces of Chota, Cutervo, Hualgayoc, and Santa Cruz.
