The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Friday afternoon reported that
To date, the measure has benefited more than 6 million citizens who are in vulnerable condition.
"It is a help, a palliative to overcome this crisis. However, there are still 1.3 million people who have not received these bonuses but will receive them in the course of this week," he expressed.
Small farmers
The top official indicated that there are some sectors which are not included in the list of beneficiaries.
"
One of them may be small farmers. There is talk of an agrarian bond; that is possible, of course. There are families from the small agriculture sector who are going through difficult times, and we are thinking how to support them," he told reporters.
Thus, Mr. Vizcarra said, analyses are being carried out in order to identify the sectors that need to be served with this benefit.
Pension
Moreover, the top official indicated that more than 3 million Pension Fund Administrator (AFP) clients will be allowed to withdraw their funds for up to S/2,000 (about US$563).
