Peru President meets with UN Secretary-General

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the UN headquarters.

On this occasion, the Secretary-General commended Peru's role in the UN Security Council this year and its contributions to peace operations.

Likewise, both dignitaries discussed efforts undertaken to fight corruption and implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Furthermore, they addressed regional developments in Latin America.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Peruvian leader delivered a speech at the Plenary Meeting of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly currently underway in New York City.

The Head of State also attended the High-Level Meeting on Action for Peacekeeping.

In addition, he met with the Presidents Lenin Moreno (Ecuador) and Ivan Duque (Colombia).
