Peru: President meets with ministers to discuss investment development

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo met with Ministers Eduardo Gonzalez (Energy-Mines) and Pedro Francke (Economy-Finance) at the Energy and Mines Ministry headquarters in Lima to coordinate efforts geared towards the development of sustainable investments that allow boosting the progress and well-being of the population.

The meeting also served to address priority issues of the mining-energy sector such as the massive natural gas use for the benefit of all Peruvians, the search for solutions to social conflicts in mining and oil areas, and the price of fuels, among others.

Likewise, the internal reorganization process promoted by Minister Gonzalez at Minem —to make it more efficient and transparent— was highlighted.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers Jose Davila (Electricity) and Jorge Chavez (Mines), who addressed the initiatives implemented in their respective sectors.

Dialogue with Congress

Moreover, Minister Gonzalez met with Congressman Carlos Alva —who serves as Congress' Energy and Mines Commission chairman— to strengthen coordination between the Executive and Legislative Branches for addressing various issues in the mines and energy sector.

The Minem head highlighted the social approach that drives his administration and affirmed that he will seek the development of sustainable investments in an environment of social peace, which benefits the various regions where projects are developed.
