The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Monday met with Luz del Carmen Ibañez, a prominent Peruvian judge who holds the position of
First Vice-President of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In a post on Twitter, the Head of State said that they agreed to work together with all Peruvians.
"I thanked her you for being here and for her contributions to promote equality and a justice approach. We have agreed that Peruvians must be more united," he remarked.
Precisely, the Peruvian judge Luz del Carmen Ibañez was appointed as the First Vice-President of the International Criminal Court.
Between 2000 and 2015, the magistrate held several positions within the Attorney General's Office, where she specialized in violations of human rights, terrorism, and crimes against humanity.
Likewise, she was a Peruvian delegate before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE), and other international bodies.
