17:15 | Lima, Feb. 15.

President Martin Vizcarra on Friday affirmed infrastructure works for the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games will be finished before the deadline, which will ensure the success of this major sporting tournament.

In this sense, the Head of State indicated he has received a positive report on the progress of sporting infrastructure projects.

According to the top official, these projects have created employment and business opportunities for micro- and small-sized enterprises.

Furthermore, he claimed his Government —through the Education Ministry and the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD)— is supporting national athletes participating in both events

The statesman underlined the new infrastructure will be used by future generations of Peruvian athletes.

Vizcarra's remarks were made during the Purchase Execution Unit (NEC) launch ceremony in Villa El Salvador district.

At the time, he was joined by Ministers Liliana La Rosa (Development and Social Inclusion), Raul Reyes-Perez (Production), and Daniel Alfaro (Education), as well as Lima 2019 President Carlos Neuhaus.

Afterward, the Peruvian leader visited the Pan American and Parapan American Village.
