The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Wednesday led a new session of the Council of Ministers to define new measures which will be established to face the third wave of the pandemic.

The meeting began at 8:00 a.m. (local time) at the Executive Branch headquarters, as reported by the Government Palace Press Secretariat.

Last Tuesday, Prime Minister Vasquez announced that the session would serve to discuss measures in the face of this third wave, which was confirmed by Health Minister Hernando Cevallos.

According to the Cabinet chief, the measures would especially be in force in areas where the incidence of the pandemic is high and the vaccination rate is low.
