Peru: President leads Council of Ministers session

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo led a new session of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

The meeting started at 8:30 a.m. (local time) at the Executive Branch headquarters in Lima, the Press Secretary of the Government Palace has reported.

Last Tuesday, the Head of State held a conference for the foreign press.

At the event, the top official warned that the execution of a new form of coup d'état had begun in Peru —referring to the constitutional complaint submitted by Attorney General Patricia Benavides to Congress of the Republic.

According to the dignitary,

the objective would be to "overthrow the Government" with these types of actions.
