Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski hopes reconstruction of Coastal El Niño hit areas will be felt tangibly rather than just via news reports, and affirmed he will work very hard to do so.
Remarks were made as he closed the 4th Regional Governors-Executive Power (GORE-Executive) working meeting in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
He said the organization and team led by Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (RCC) Executive Director Pablo de la Flor will be key for that purpose.
"I want reconstruction to be felt, rather than just being content appearing in the news. I think we can make it," the Peruvian leader underscored while speaking from the Government Palace.
Mr. Kuczynski emphasized how useful it was to send a State minister to each region in the country to direct government actions in favor of victims, as well as areas hit by landslides, rains and floods.
This, he continued, helps establish a direct link among the Executive, regional governors and mayors.
620 agreements
GORE-Executive has seen some 620 new agreements signed, so he called for monitoring initiatives to ensure their compliance.
"Peru is going through a political turmoil, so we need to calm things down, promote confidence and build a peaceful climate in order to boost growth," he stated.
He went on to stress the need to work hand-in-hand with regions, municipalities, Central Government and Congress to "push as a single force" as well as promote an investment, growth-friendly environment.
