Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Friday confirmed that the frontal fight against corruption is the central axis of his administration, and nothing will disrupt this objective.

"The frontal fight against corruption and impunity has been, is, and will remain the central axis of our Government. Nothing will disrupt this objective because it is an objective of all Peruvians," he expressed.

Furthermore, the top official pointed out that the police career demands sacrifice, commitment, and loyalty, adding "I am sure they will continue to work with professionalism and honor to strengthen and enhance the institution even more."

In this sense, the statesman noted that the oath of service is a promise which does not admit doubts or hesitations, but fully supports the new police, underlining it is and will be implacable with the bad members who dishonor the institution.

For the president, the Government's commitment to the PNP is clear and firm. Therefore —from day one— his administration has not only been strengthening the institution, but also providing better tools and conditions so that police members can efficiently fulfill their mission.

Remarks were made in the ceremony marking the 31st anniversary of the National Police.
