Peru President: "Everyone must help eliminate corruption"

17:43 | Huanuco (Huanuco region), Aug. 15.

President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday affirmed the Peruvian people want to eliminate corruption.

However, he said, this will only be possible if civil society and authorities from all government branches work together.

"(…) Everyone must help. No one agrees with corruption, and we all need to join efforts," the Head of State expressed.

Likewise, Peru's top official confirmed the proposed referendum for constitutional reforms will indeed happen, since the population has the right to voice its opinion about the Inca country's important issues.

Remarks were made during Huanuco City's 479-anniversary celebrations

As is known, President Vizcarra arrived in Huanuco alongside Transport and Communications Minister Edmer Trujillo, as well as other Executive Branch members.

The statesman's presence in the city proves his administration believes it is important to open a communication channel between Peruvian rainforest and coastal areas.
