The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday led a new session of the Council of Ministers at the Government Palace, which discussed the purchase process of urea (fertilizers) to ensure the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign.
Similarly, the meeting served to discuss plans and actions aimed at combating citizen insecurity, among other issues of national interest.
It is worth noting that the President recently announced that the first batch of fertilizers will arrive in Peru in the coming weeks, which will secure the start of the planting season for farmers across the country.
During the session, the Council of Ministers also discussed the draft supreme decree that approves the National Multisectoral Citizen Security Policy until 2030 —proposed by the
Interior Ministry (Mininter)— which will help implement concrete actions in the short, medium, and long term.
Meanwhile, the
Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on the progress made in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccination process, as well as actions against monkeypox and dengue.
On the other hand, and in order to promote sports across the country, the Council debated the bill authorizing the
Ministry of Education (Minedu) to make budget transfers in favor of regional governments in a bid to organize the 2022 School Sport and Parasport Games.
Furthermore, it debated the bill that would prohibit the application of the principle of opportunity and the reparation agreement in cases of violence against women or members of the family group.
