Peru President: Constitutional Court restores citizens' right to information

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday affirmed the Constitutional Court's (TC) decision to invalidate the Law banning State advertising in private media restored citizens' right to be informed.

The Head of State said this will let people know about the Government's work done for their benefit.

Likewise, Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva hailed TC's decision to declare the aforementioned Law as unconstitutional.

He went on to add —via Twitter— that the right to freedom of speech and information is a way to ensure social well-being in a democracy.
