Peru: President Castillo receives greetings on 52nd birthday

17:26 | Lima, Oct. 19.

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday morning received greetings from citizens who gathered outside the Government Palace on the occasion of his 52nd birthday.

Accompanied by his security detail, the Head of State walked out of the Executive Branch headquarters into the courtyard and headed to the city's main square —situated in front of the Government Palace— where a large number of people had gathered.

The Peruvian leader disappeared into the crowd, as he received their greetings on his birthday.

In addition, Peru's First Lady Lilia Paredes posted an emotional message on her Twitter account.

In her post, she highlighted the dedication and perseverance of the Head of State, as well as his love and strength to build a better country.

"I have seen your struggle, dedication, and perseverance first hand. You are making history, Jose, by being the voice and hope of the humble. Your love and strength to our family are the drive to build a better country. Happy birthday, Pedro Castillo!" she wrote.

Likewise, Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez wished him success in the role he has been playing —as head of the Executive Branch— in building a sovereign and dignified nation.

"I want to express affectionate birthday greetings to President Pedro Castillo. I wish him well with his family and success in the role he has been playing in building a sovereign, dignified Peru with rights for all. Congratulations!" reads her tweet.
