Within the framework of World Cancer Day,
on Friday visited the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN), joined by Health Minister Rosa Gutierrez and INEI institutional head Francisco Berrospi.
On this occasion, the Head of State stressed the importance of prevention, early detection, and early diagnosis of cancer to save lives.
Similarly, the top official indicated that the Government allocated S/515 million (about US$134 million) for the Ministry of Health and regional governments to provide targeted care to oncology patients.
"One of the first pillars of the Government is to comprehensively protect (citizens') health. Today, we are at INEN because tomorrow is World Cancer Day. From here, I want to hug all women, men, boys, and girls who are going through this disease, and tell them not to lose faith, but above all to trust the treatment that they receive at INEN," she expressed.
Mrs. Boluarte visited an oncology patient whose early diagnosis was essential for her treatment and recovery.
Edith told the President that she had arrived at INEN referred by a doctor, as soon as test results suggested a possible oncological disease, which were essential for starting her treatment, attending periodic check-up sessions, and saving her life.
