Peru: President arrives in Ucayali to lead Decentralized Council of Ministers session

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday morning arrived in the rainforest city of Pucallpa (Ucayali region) to chair the 8th Decentralized Council of Ministers session.

This event is the result of decentralization efforts undertaken by the Executive Branch in order to meet the needs of regions across the country.

Moreover, it marks the continuation of the strengthening, dialogue, and coordination with social organizations, as well as regional and local authorities. 

According to the schedule, the meeting will take place at Coliseo Cerrado (sports' indoor coliseum) of Pucallpa located in the district of Manantay.

In addition, the decentralized session will feature Coronel Portillo Province Mayor Segundo Perez and Ucayali Region Governor Angel Gutierrez.

Afterwards, the "Dialogue on the Ucayali Agenda" will be held. It will witness the participation of provincial mayors of Atalaya, Padre Abad, Purus, four representatives of civil society, and State ministers of different sectors such as Agrarian Development, Transportation and Communications, Education, Housing, Health, Economy and Finance, as well as Development and Social Inclusion, among others.

It should be pointed out that this is the 8th Decentralized Council of Ministers session held under the administration of President Pedro Castillo and the second one held this week.

The closing of the event will be presided over by the Head of State and Prime Minister Anibal Torres.
