The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo arrived in the Ecuadorian city of Loja on Friday morning to participate with the hosting nation's counterpart, Guillermo Lasso, in the 14th Ecuador-Peru Presidential Meeting and Binational Cabinet.
Upon his arrival in the city, the Head of State received the corresponding honors from Ecuadorian military authorities.
Later, he will fulfill a busy work schedule within the framework of the Binational Cabinet.
Among the objectives of the Peruvian Government, the following stand out: the full implementation of the 1998 peace agreements, in addition to Ecuador complying with its obligations in terms of Integrated Water Resources Management and the cessation of contamination of shared basins.
Similarly, it involves establishing courses of action to meet the needs linked to access to water, sanitation, health, and education services for border populations.
According to the schedule, prior to the bilateral meeting, the Head of State will visit the Integrated Center for Solid Waste Management in Loja.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., the meeting's plenary session and the Binational Cabinet will take place at Bernardo Valdivieso Cultural Center.
During the event, five thematic axes will be addressed: social and cultural affairs; environmental, energy, and mining affairs; economic, commercial, and investment affairs; infrastructure and connectivity; as well as security and defense.
Finally, the Joint Declaration by both nations will be signed.
