A significant archaeological find, linked to the Blanco sobre Rojo culture, was presented on Tuesday morning, after being identified during works to expand the natural gas distribution network in San Isidro district, Lima.
Andina News Agency learned that the find corresponds to the burial of an adult individual placed in a seated position, with the legs flexed toward the chest, according to information provided by Cálidda.
Archaeologists have determined that the burial corresponds to the Blanco sobre Rojo style, a society that developed toward the end of the Formative period.
This context is estimated to be 1,800 years old.
This discovery provides valuable insight into the funerary practices of the Blanco sobre Rojo culture.
It also reinforces Cálidda's commitment to protecting Peru's national heritage, in coordination with the Culture Ministry.
