Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva on Tuesday affirmed the
results of the national referendum —held last Sunday— prompt the Government to work and implement the recently approved reforms as soon as possible.
"The urgent need now is to create the National Justice Board," the official told local Exitosa radio.
"This is the moment in which the Parliament must show eagerness to boost the reforms needed by the country," the Prime Minister expressed.
"We must show democratic institutionalism works and that Congress plays a key role in this process," he added.
They were proposed by the Executive Branch and subsequently approved by Congress.
Said
proposals addressed lawmakers' reelection,
bicameral legislature, political parties' private financing, and a reform of the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) —renamed National Justice Board.
It should be noted Peruvians approved three of them, while they rejected the bicameral reform.
