Peru: PM reaches Congress to present Govt's general policy, seeks vote of confidence

Peruvian Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano on Monday arrived at the Congress building to present the Government's general policy and request a vote of confidence.

The Cabinet chief, joined by State ministers, reached the Parliament headquarters on foot.

Cateriano shall present the Government's general policy and request the confidence vote of legislators.

In accordance with Article 130 of the Constitution, the President of the Council of Ministers must attend Congress —joined by his Cabinet— to present the Government's general policy and the principal measures pursued by the Executive Branch.

President Martin Vizcarra noted that, during his presentation, Cateriano will develop the measures set forth in his Address to the Nation on July 28.
