Peru PM: Government's main objectives presented to Congress

During his presentation to request Congress confidence vote, Cabinet's Chief Fernando Zavala introduced the Government's main objectives to be implemented.

Following are some of the most important measures. 

Opportunities, social investment, water and infrastructure

Increase teachers minimum monthly salary to S/2,000 (about US$606) by 2018. The Cabinet will also submit a proposal to enhance the Law to Reform the Teaching Profession's competitiveness within the first 100 days. 
Reduce hospital-care waiting time by expanding service hours.
Foster an aggressive public and private investment plan for water and sanitation works.
Promote territorial development integral plans to guide the country's management and sustainability. 
Expand service hours in five Women Emergency Centers. 

Security and fight against corruption

Apply a massive reward program to catch most wanted criminals. 
Execute "mega-operations" to capture criminals.
Implement integrated police-municipal surveillance patrolling in 7 cities.
Reinforce the anti-terrorist strategy in the Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro River Valley, known as Vraem.
Anticipate the fifth stage of police salary increase. 
Declare the penitentiary system in emergency.

Employment, formalization and economic reactivation

Simplify the tax system for small businesses.
Reform the public investment process that will substitute the National System for Public Investment (SNIP).
Unlock the priority projects list. 
Foster Serviagro program as technical support and training platform for farmers.
Implement Sierra Azul program to promote seeding and harvesting of water works.
Promote sustainable forest management and proper harnessing.
Assist SMEs to strengthen their export capability.

Bring State closer to citizens 

Subject Executive branch institutions to citizen attention quality assessment. 
Implement 24 multiple-attention centers throughout the country.
Implement open data portal providing access to Executive sectors information.
Become OECD member by 2021.
