The first batch of 50,000 vaccines from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer will land in Peru this Wednesday evening. Thus, the immunization against COVID-19 will continue nationwide with the new doses.

As announced by the President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti last Tuesday, the cargo transported by KLM's flight 743 will arrive in Lima at 7:05 p.m. (local time).

Thanks to this first batch from Pfizer, the immunization of first responders will be supported by two different vaccines.

The incoming medical products are the outcome of direct government purchases. Thus, the COVAX Facility mechanism doses are pending.

Once the customs clearance controls are passed, the doses will be taken to the warehouses of the National Center for Supply of Strategic Resources in Health (Cenares). From there, they will be transferred to various zones in the country to continue with the immunization process.
