Pacific Alliance's Foreign Affairs Deputy Ministers highlighted on Wednesday the benefits from the upcoming Free Trade Agreement that will significantly boost trade integration among: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
This covenant will enter into force on May 1st, 2016 and aims to liberalize regional trade within the bloc.
As is known, the said authorities participated in the"34th Meeting of the Pacific Alliance High Level Group (HLG)" held in Lima on April 25th-26th, 2016.
Deputy Ministers received a report from Finance Ministries on progress and the current status of the Work Plan for the 2015-2016 period.
Government officials analyzed reports submitted by technical groups on topics: external relations, movement of people, institutional affairs, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), innovation, services and capitals, among others.
Next HLG Meeting
The next High Level Group Meeting will take place in Mexico City on June 7th, 2016.
The Pacific Alliance is a regional integration mechanism reuniting Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru created on April 28th, 2011.
It seeks for the free circulation of people, goods, capitals and services among member states, which host a population of 216 million people and represent 39% of the GDP of Latin America and the Caribbean.
