Peru: New Minister committed to people's health

Peruvian Health Minister Hernando Cevallos on Saturday reiterated his commitment to ensuring the provision of proper health service to citizens.

"Assuming (leadership at) the Ministry of Health means to me a great challenge and a commitment to the people, who for years have suffered from lack of access to adequate health care," the Cabinet member wrote on Twitter.

Thus, "we will work with teacher Castillo's administration so that health is a right guaranteed by the State."

Last Friday, the Cabinet member announced that 3 million Sinopharm vaccines against COVID-19 are expected to arrive in Lima this August to maintain the immunization rate.

As is known, Minister Cevallos —who was sworn into office last Thursday— is part of new President Pedro Castillo's government.
