16:28 | Lima, Apr. 18.

The Peruvian National Police (PNP) has identified the alleged killer of Santiago de Surco Municipality's security guard, Luis Manrique Pizarro, who was shot in the neck while attempting to arrest his soon-to-be murderer for committing a crime, Colonel Victor Revoredo, head of the Homicide Investigation Division, reported.

According to Revoredo, the alleged killer's name is Christopher Joseph Fuentes Gonzales, a Venezuelan national who has been included in the Interior Ministry's Rewards Program.

It should be noted that Mininter is offering a reward worth S/80,000 (about US$21,169) to anyone who provides information on the whereabouts of Christopher Fuentes Gonzales.

Colonel Revoredo told RPP Noticias that the suspect was identified as a result of the work carried out by the Intelligence Bureau and the High Technology Division of the PNP, thanks to a surveillance footage that made it possible to identify his physical features, tattoos, and the modus operandi of similar crimes.

In this regard, the Homicide Investigation Division's head said that Fuentes is an offender with extensive criminal records, who has committed homicides and robberies in Venezuela and Peru.

"He was incriminated in a homicide that occurred in the district of San Martin de Porres, based on the information that matched his physical description. At that time, a National Police officer, a martyr, ended up wounded," he noted.

Revoredo explained that the National Police obtained details of his identity based on information provided by someone linked to the group of foreign criminals who commit raqueteo (armed robbery using motorcycles) in the country.

The colonel pointed out that these crimes are carried out in districts such as Santiago de Surco and La Molina.

In addition, he underscored that the PNP has developed a strategic plan through which said criminals have been captured.
