Peru: Minsa distributes more than 34 tons of medical supplies to Lima and regions

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) sent more than 34 tons of medical supplies to health facilities in Lima Metropolitan Area and 11 regions of Peru, with the purpose of countering the COVID-19 pandemic, the sector reported on Wednesday.

Through the National Center for Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares), 528,226 personal protective equipment (PPE) units were distributed to the aforementioned areas. These included disposable N-95 masks, nasal respirators, jackets, aprons, pants, overalls, disposable gloves, boots, polycarbonate goggles and polycarbonate face shields.

Likewise, 27,265 medical supplies and/or equipment were dispensed such as: retractable disposable lancets and adult-pediatric pulse oximeters, as well as medicines (229,235): hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, rocuronium bromide, dexamethasone phosphate, ipratropium bromide inhalers, etc.

It is worth mentioning that part of the shipment was sent to the following regions: Amazonas, Ancash, Cajamarca, Huancavelica, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Puno, San Martin, Tacna, Tumbes and Ucayali.
