Peruvian Ministers Victor Zamora (Health) and Carlos Lozada (Transport and Communications) on Friday participated in the presentation of the Temporary Care and Isolation Center for COVID-19 patients set up inside Carlos Lanfranco La Hoz Hospital facilities in Lima's Puente Piedra district.

Minister Zamora explained that the area will house 40 hospital beds, each of them with autonomous access to oxygen.

In addition, it will rely on modern medical equipment such as 14 vital sign monitors, 18 pulse oximeters, 7 laryngoscopes, 28 digital blood pressure monitors, digital ultrasound and X-ray equipment, among others. The units will contribute to providing specialized care to the sick.

For his part, Minister Lozada indicated that this is the sixth temporary hospital implemented by the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games Special Legacy Project, which is attached to the Transport and Communications Ministry as part of the Government's strategy to respond to the health emergency.

He specified that more than S/43.6 million (above US$12.37 million) was allocated for the project to acquire medical equipment and temporary infrastructure.

With this presentation, the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games Special Legacy Project completes the setting up of six temporary hospitals in recent weeks.
