Peruvian mining exports in November 2024 amounted to US$4.212 billion, a 19% growth compared to the same month in 2023 (US$3.536 billion), the National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE) reported Friday.

The mining and energy guild mentioned that copper sales abroad totaled US$2.237 billion last November, a figure representing a 22.6% growth compared to November 2023 (US$1.825 billion).

The SNMPE noted that the increase in copper shipments recorded in November was due to a 9.2% rise in the price of the metal, and the volume grew by 12.3% compared to the same month in 2023.

On the other hand, it indicated that gold exports reached US$1.315 billion in November 2024, a 27% increase over the same month in 2023 (US$1.035 billion).

The SNMPE stated that shipments of this precious metal benefited from a 33.4% increase in price, despite a 4.8% drop in volume compared to the same month in 2023.

The mining and energy guild announced that mining exports, from January to November 2024, totaled US$42.757 billion, a 10.3% growth over the same period in 2023 (US$38.774 billion).

It also reported that copper exports accounted for 50% of mining products sold abroad from January to November.
