More than 1,000 workers —who are on the front line in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic such as: doctors, nurses, police, public cleaning staff, municipal police, and others— have already visited
and other attractions located in the Incas' Sacred Valley.
"The Gratitude Group," as it is called, departs from the city of Cusco in buses and by train from Ollantaytambo Station.
Each delegation relies on tourist guides, food, and beverages distributed on the way.
On the tour, the workers enjoy days of good weather, as they visit the archaeological parks of Chinchero,
Maras,
Ollantaytambo, Pisaq, and
Machu Picchu. Likewise, they learn about the legacy, history, and importance of pre-Inca and Inca times.
It must be noted that Dircetur urges them to comply with biosafety protocols in order to avoid COVID-19 contagion.
It is worth mentioning that each attraction offers visitors stations for hand washing and disinfection.
