Just like in other cities around the globe, Lima on Saturday became the stage for the Pride March, bringing together many LGTBI population members in the streets of the Peruvian capital's downtown area.

They were joined by politicians, such as Women-Vulnerable Populations Minister Diana Miloslavich, artists, and representatives of foreign diplomatic delegations based in Peru.

This mobilization took place in a peaceful and festive manner, starting at Campo de Marte in Jesus Maria district on route to the Historic Center of Lima.

The large caravan was characterized by its colors and music, advancing through the following Avenues: La Peruanidad, Guzman Blanco, Garcilaso de la Vega, and Nicolas de Pierola.

The final venue for this event was Plaza San Martin (San Martin Square), where a rally was held at which the presence and participation of the LGTBI population in the nation's life was highlighted.

At this event, Women Minister Miloslavich affirmed that this community "is one of the strongest, as well as most powerful, pioneering, and important social movements in Latin America."
