Legislative resolutions were published on Tuesday which authorize the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo to travel abroad on January 26 and February 3, 2022, so as to participate in official activities in Colombia and Brazil.

Legislative Resolution No. 31397, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano, authorizes the Head of State to leave the country on January 26 to participate in the 16th Summit of the Pacific Alliance, which will be held in the city of Buenaventura, Republic of Colombia.

Meanwhile, Legislative Resolution No. 31398 authorizes the President to leave the national territory on February 3 so as to participate in the Peru-Brazil Presidential Meeting to be held in the city of Porto Velho, Rondonia State, Federative Republic of Brazil.

The regulation indicates that the trip to Brazil seeks to strengthen the historical ties of friendship and cooperation, as well as to promote the broad bilateral agenda through a space for high-level political dialogue, in which actions are coordinated on issues of common interest in favor of development and well-being of both countries' populations —particularly those located in the border area.

The legislative resolutions were signed by Congress Chairwoman Maria del Carmen Alva and Vice-Chairwoman Lady Camones.
