Fuerza Popular presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori has sworn to redouble efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, guarantee universal vaccination, respect the human rights of all Peruvians, and ensure the strengthening of democracy.

Remarks were made as she signed the "Citizen Proclamation - Oath for Democracy," during an in-person ceremony held at the main auditorium of the Peruvian College of Physicians on Monday morning.

The document —which contains 12 commitments— was also signed by her contender and leader of Peru Libre party, Pedro Castillo.

Additionally, Fujimori swore to leave office after July 28, 2026, respect the separation of powers at State level, provide inclusive and quality education, promote the fight against corruption, defend freedom of the press, among other things.

Before the signing, the presidential candidate reiterated her commitment to bringing the State closer to the population and promised all Peruvians to comply with the Citizen Proclamation.

"I know I will be able to keep my promises if Peruvians give me the opportunity. During this stage, many citizens are joining our proposal, and I know they do not do this for me. Today, I pledge to commit myself to them and to all Peruvians," she stated.

In addition, Keiko emphasized that, in an eventual government, she will work to revive the economy by providing support to peasants, artisans, and micro-entrepreneurs.

"Wealth will be distributed more fairly at the end of my term. I will work to make peasants feel that the State helps them achieve their highest productivity, for artisans to show the best of their talents, and for micro-entrepreneurs to embark on their projects without hindrance," she added.

Finally, she recognized the daily effort and sacrifice of the police, soldiers, doctors, nurses, and teachers.
