Peru, Israel deepen cooperation in agriculture

Peru's Minister of Agriculture, Milton von Hesse and his Israeli counterpart Yair Shamir met on Tuesday

Peru's Minister of Agriculture, Milton von Hesse, held talks Tuesday with his Israeli counterpart Yair Shamir to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and implement projects.
Von Hesse said that Israel has developed a modern agricultural technology to address the problems caused by deserts, and Peru is eager to learn from their experience, and therefore achieve efficient water management in arid areas.

Israel will support the efforts of Peru's Ministry of Agriculture (Minag) to modernize the National Institute for Agrarian Innovation (INIA), providing better services to producers.

At the meeting, authorities of Israel's Ministry of Agriculture showed their interest in sending specialists to Peru to help National Water Authority (ANA) design a project to address the problem of water resources in southern region of Ica.
