Thousands of citizens will witness the Civic-Military Parade to be attended by Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra in Lima today.
Held every July 29th, the traditional event will gather detachments representing the country's military institutions and National Police.
As usual, the ceremony will see the presence of State ministers, congress members, high-ranking military officers, religious authorities, diplomats, and First Lady Maribel Diaz.
Stands have been erected to seat authorities and public in general, who will not hesitate to come early as seating is limited.
As every year, a limited number of seats will be reserved for authorities and the press. The rest will be open for the great deal of spectators.
Upon his arrival, the Peruvian leader will review the troops at the main stand and will then authorize a high-ranking military officer to start the activity.
Following a brief welcoming ceremony, attendees will get together to sing the national anthem.
Next, members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and National Police will delight spectators with their stiff march, gala uniforms, and varied equipment.
Held as part of Independence Day festivities, the parade pays tribute to Peruvian Armed Forces for their contribution to the country. It is also an opportunity to inspire patriotism and love of country.
