Peru's Executive Branch on Thursday approved a national integrity and anti-corruption policy to develop State actions and strategies through general and specific guidelines.

According to a supreme decree published in the official gazette El Peruano, its implementation is mandatory for all public entities, autonomous constitutional bodies and all levels of Government.

Its fulfillment is also compulsory in the private sector and civil society level if applicable and, if not, serves as a guide.

Peru's High-Level Anti-Corruption Commission (CAN), through its general coordination office, is in charge of its follow-up, monitoring, and evaluation.

"State entities under the policy's umbrella have the duty and obligation to carry out a follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of the actions, within the framework of their competences," reads the document.

As per regions, Regional Anticorruption Commissions will support CAN in the process and their respective districts.

The said policy has a national plan which is updated every four years.
