Peru Gov't expresses solidarity and condolences over quake in Turkey-Iran border

The Government of Peru has expressed his solidarity and deepest condolences to the Government and People of Turkey over the fatalities and injuries after the earthquake that struck in neighboring Iran.

Likewise, the Peruvian Government extended its solidarity to the Government and people of Iran for the injuries and material damage caused by said catastrophe.

The Government of Peru wishes for a speedy recovery of the victims and the reconstruction of the affected areas, and expressed confidence in both countries' capacity to recover from this natural disaster. 

The message was contained in a press release issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry on behalf of the Vizcarra administration.

Centered on the Iranian city of Khoy, the seismic activity killed at least nine people and left more than 30 injured.

The 5.7-magnitude quake occurred on February 23 and affected villages in the Turkish province of Van.
