As part of the actions carried out within the framework of the Multisectoral Plan against Frost and Cold Spell 2022-2024, the Peruvian Government has delivered more than 40 Sumaq Wasi bioclimatic homes to the residents of Muku, a town in Cusco.
Moreover, the Government carried out civic and medical actions in favor of the inhabitants in said locality.
The delivery took place on Saturday within the framework of the conference entitled "Together We Will Overcome the Cold."
The homes were delivered by representatives of the Ministries of Housing, Education, Health, Development and Social Inclusion, Agrarian Development and Defense, who were led by Deputy Minister of Territorial Governance of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) Jesus Quispe.
The town of Muku is located in the district of Checacupe in the Cusco province of Canchis.
In addition to the bioclimatic houses, built by the National Rural Housing Program, civic and medical actions were carried out in said locality. Furthermore, the population received vaccination against various diseases.
Goal of the plan
Regarding the aforementioned multisectoral plan, Quispe affirmed that the goal is to reduce the vulnerability of people when exposed to frost and cold spell so as to reduce the risk with actions that help protect their lives and physical integrity, as well as their livelihoods.
The Deputy Ministry of Territorial Governance is in charge of monitoring and following up compliance with the commitments and goals set in each sector, as well as assessing the implementation of each of their activities.
