on Tuesday indicated that the Government allocated more than S/430 million (over US$115 million) for the payment of Compensation Service Time (CTS for its Spanish acronym) to educators and for settling the social debt to dismissed and retired teachers, plus administrative staff.
At this event, the president said that education is a fundamental pillar for fostering development and laying the foundations for the future of new generations.
"We are committed to young people and also to teachers in the Public Teaching Career to implement policies that recognize their efforts in shaping the future of this country," she indicated.
The top official specified that out of the S/1,000 (about US$268) increase for teachers in the first scale of the Teaching Career Law, S/500 (about US$134) was provided during her administration.
Between July and August, S/232 million (US$62 million) has been allocated for CTS payment to educators, benefiting 2,621 dismissed teachers.
Additionally, S/200 million (US$53 million) has been transferred to regional governments for settling the social debt owed to 50,000 dismissed and retired teachers, plus administrative staff.
"Education demands everyone's commitment; let us work together to address the country's great challenges," she expressed.
Bicentennial Generation Scholarship
The president stated that throughout the 11 "Bicentennial Generation" scholarship application calls, more than 2,500 Peruvians who lacked sufficient resources to pursue graduate studies have benefited.
She added that this will mark the beginning of a positive transformation in the lives of scholarship recipients and their families.
Mrs. Boluarte indicated that education is the gateway to breaking poverty cycles and strengthening the construction of a developed country.
"The Government took on the task of strengthening the education of young people. When we came to power, we found 5,000 Beca 18 grants, which we doubled to 10,000. We project that there will be 50,000 scholarships nationwide by 2026," she pointed out.
Mrs. Boluarte said that in this call for "Bicentennial Generation" scholarship application, the benefit was awarded to 150 young people, who will be able to make their dream of pursuing a master's or doctorate degree come true.
