Peru: Government coordinates overflight authorizations for aircraft traveling to Poland

The Peruvian Government coordinates overflight authorizations for an Air Force plane, which will travel to Poland so as to repatriate fellow nationals residing in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Friday.

According to the government agency, the Honorary Consulate in Kiev and the Consular Office in Warsaw continue with the process of identifying Peruvian citizens who want to be evacuated from said country.

Earlier today, the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo announced that the Government, through its Defense Ministry, has ordered a plane to be sent overseas to repatriate Peruvians based in Ukraine.

In turn, the General Director of Peruvian Communities Abroad and Consular Affairs at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Maria Antonia Masana, indicated that 196 fellow citizens expressed interest in being evacuated —out of 291 Peruvians registered at the Honorary Consulate in Kiev.
