Peru: Get to know Gareca's squad for squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Peru's national soccer team coach Ricardo Gareca on Friday announced its squad for the opening two matches of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Qualifiers.

The list of 30 players for the matches against Paraguay (October 8) and Brazil (October 13) includes: Raziel Garcia, David Dioses, and Aldair Rodriguez. It is also composed of well-known Jefferson Farfan, Renato Tapia, Edison Flores, Miguel Trauco, Luis Advincula, and Pedro Gallese.

The Argentine coach used the Peruvian team's social networks to publicize the list. Likewise, he held a press conference to give details about his decisions on the team.

He also provided insights into how the national squad will face the first games at the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

For the qualifying matches, only 23 players can be registered in accordance with FIFA regulations. The rest will be able to train with the group but will remain awaiting any requirement from the coaching staff.

Training sessions will begin on September 28 at the Lima-based National Sports Village (Videna). The trip to the Paraguayan capital Asuncion is scheduled for October 7. A day later, Peru will face Paraguay at 7:30 p.m. (local time).

Following this match, the delegation will return home to prepare for the game against the Brazilian squad, which is scheduled for October 13 at 7:00 p.m. (local time) at Lima's National Stadium.
